After my wife of 28 years passed away from cancer I was suffering from writers block. I didn't want to face the dark words that might drip off my pen. Those of us who were raised in religious or PMA households sometimes have trouble going too dark in our journals, as if the words themselves could invite bad spirits to curse us. But the opposite is true. Writers and journalers purge their demons by writing them out. As soon as I created a journal only for my dark thoughts, free of judgement and boundaries, I was able to write again. I was able to grieve fully. And I started to heal.
Journal Prompts for my Dark Thoughts is a safe space in the shadows. If you're like me, stresses and fears that are blocking you from releasing negativity can be vanquished with some ink, some impulse, and most importantly, permission to don your claws and fangs. Find the prompt or quote that inspires you. Then let the universe know how you really feel.
